MR. YUSUF ABUBAKAR ARGUNGU (DIRECTOR PROCUREMENT)

Mr. Yusuf Abubakar Argungu was born 20th October 1967, in Argungu, Argungu Town of Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi State. He holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Ahmadu Bello University (A.B.U) Zaria and B.Sc in Agriculture from Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto in 1999 and 1989 respectively.

He is registered Corporate Member of Nigerian Institute of Management with effect from 2003; Corporate Member Chattered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria 2017; and Corporate Member of Institute of Project Mangers of Nigeria in 2021.

He began his Civil Service Career as an Assistant Chief Admin Officer (Recruitment/Appointment) in National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) 2002-2003; Chief Admin Officer in National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) 2004-2007; Chief Admin Officer in Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) – Ministry of Energy (Petroleum) from 2007-2009; Chief Admin Officer (Budget Monitoring) in Federal Ministry of Finance (Budget Office of the Federation) from 2009-2010.

Consequent to the reinvigoration of the Federal Government commitment to the full implementation and adherence to the Principles of Due Process, he was converted to the Procurement Cadre and served as Chief Procurement Officer (Recurrent) in Federal Ministry of Environment from 2010-2011; Assistant Director Procurement (Recurrent Procurement) in Federal Ministry of Health 2011-2014; Assistant Director Procurement in Federal Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development 2014-2014; Deputy Director Procurement in Federal Ministry of Communication Technology from 2014-2016; Deputy Director Procurement  in National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) 2016-2017; and Deputy Director Procurement in Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC). In 2018, Mr. Argungu was promoted to the post of Director Procurement in Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) where he served meritoriously till 2020 before been posted to Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning (FMFB&NP) in 2020 then posted to Ministry of Niger Delta in July 2020. In December 2020, he was posted to Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

Mr. Argungu is an astute Procurement Officer whose landmark was evidence when he was the Secretary Financial Inclusion Project in the Federal Ministry of Communication Technology. In March 2021, Mr. Argungu was deployed to Federal Ministry of Works & Housing as Director Procurement where sensitive procurement in the Works & Housing Sectors is being executed.
